What are CBD Tinctures?

CBD (Cannabidiol) is one among over 100 cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. It is well-known for its anxiety-relieving, anti-inflammatory, anti-seizure, and analgesic properties. CBD is a popular remedy for most common ailments such as chronic pain, anxiety, stress, depression, and sleep-related disorders. THC is the main psychoactive cannabinoid in hemp that can cause a sensation of getting high. However, CBD is not a psychoactive active component. This made CBD one of the best remedies for managing chronic pain and other ailments without any psychoactive effect. CBD tinctures are made by extracting CBD from the hemp plant and dilute it with a carrier oil such as coconut oil or hemp seed oil.

There are several types of CBD-infused products available on the market now. CBD tincture is one of the most preferred ways of CBD ingestion. The bioavailability of CBD tincture is higher than in other forms. This is because of the presence of MCT oil (Medium-Chain Triglyceride Oil) extracted from coconut oil or hemp seed oil. MCT oils make the absorption rate quicker and promote easy digestion. MCT also helps the human body to quickly absorb essential vitamins and minerals. You can use CBD tincture by just placing it under your tongue for a few minutes to get absorbed into the bloodstream faster. Else, you can add the tincture to your food or drinks.

The human body has a system named the endocannabinoid system (ECS) for regulating various functions such as pain, sleep, appetite, and immune response. The endocannabinoids produced by the body act as neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in the nervous system. CBD can manage pain and another sort of ailments by directly interacting with the ECS. Anxiety and depression are the most common mental disorders that affect human health and well-being. Usually, mental disorders are treated using pharmaceutical drugs that may cause side effects such as insomnia, agitation, drowsiness, headache, etc. CBD is a natural remedy for naturally treating depression and anxiety.

CBD tinctures are kept in 60-70% distilled alcohol arrangement. Even though both CBD oil and tincture are derived from hemp plant, they are not the same. Tinctures are hemp extracts that are mixed with either alcohol, glycerin, or MCT oil. The application of tinctures is the same as that of CBD oil, you can use it sublingually. The potency of CBD is low when compared to CBD oil. CBD tincture has a long shelf line and the dosage varies according to the body weight of the consumer.

CBD tinctures are flavored to avoid the earthy taste of CBD while taking orally. It is available in various flavors like peach, vanilla, chocolate, etc. Full-spectrum and isolate CBD tinctures are widely available on the market to choose from. Full-spectrum CBD usually contains THC (less than 0.3%) and cannabinoids extracted from the hemp plant while isolate tincture contains CBD alone. The consumption method of both CBD oil and tinctures are the same and you can use them discreetly. Tinctures will not provide any psychoactive effect as it contains THC less than 0.3% that is not enough to make you high.
